Yeah guys! Speak up and let’s continue our educational journey. There’s a lot of material to work through. I’d love to keep in touch with other players who were working through PB’s syllabus.

I agree. I would love to be able to pay for the videos/files he had created if someone close to him could set something up so the proceeds go to his family. I know there are 1000s of hours of footage he has created for guitar.

    Hello everyone.

I know the forums have been quiet for a long time. I’m hoping that some of the other students see this. If you have any private lessons, lesson videos, PDF files or anything. Share them if you could. Pebber contributed a lot to the community and dedicated a lot of time throughout his life to contribute to guitar as an instrument. I’d really hate for this to go quiet and it all be lost. PB was truly a titan of guitar technique and musical knowledge. He will be missed.

If you can, try to upload all you have to a DropBox or something similar for everyone to share. Maybe we can compile it all somewhere to share with the world. His teachings are too valuable. I’ll try to see what I have later on to upload.

It’s very sad to hear about. He was a great teacher and a very entertaining person. I’m going to miss our lessons. I’ve learned so much from him. RIP.

I hope all the students can come together and compile and upload their lesson videos to preserve his legacy. If anyone has any files to share that would be great. I’d love to download everything I can. I already have a lifetime worth of material to learn from but this man shared so much knowledge and I would hate for it to just disappear.

I've been watching Pebber Brown's YouTube videos for years(I've had this forum account for years and barely ever used it beside browsin). I found him within the first couple months of me beginning guitar about 10 or so years ago. He has helped me form a decent structure for my playing. Now that I am a little older and have my own money lol, I decided to pay for his online lessons and really try to progress my playing further.

Here are some quick videos I made doing some of the right hand practice stuff that we all know and love. I'd love some constructive criticism on it.

Side note. I used Scalpel Picking primarily for about the first 6 years of my playing and even worked on Sarod a bit but I have ultimately been using strictly just my wrist for picking nowadays. I'm sure I'll try something else in the future or work on Sarod more.

Picking on open strings, showing my rusty Scalpel technique and then my usual wrist only technique

Picking Adjacent and Non Adjacent strings

    Hybrid picking - Pick-2, Pick-2-3, Pick-2-3-4

    Chromatic Scale Form Exercise

GMajor Scale Positions ascending on each string

All insight and tips are welcome. Thanks guys.

  • Melodic Minor?DateSun Feb 20, 2011 2:55 pm

I am learning the 14 position system of the G Melodic Minor. The way I have been practicing it is play all 14 positions for 5 minutes total. Then play the scale on each string ascending and descending for maybe 2 minutes each string. Is that effective enough? Any other ways to practice it?
