I really like your enthusiasm, and it is GREAT to have you here in the Forum!! I just wanted to suggest that maybe try to slow down a little, and just take a deep breath, and not worry so much about "progress" and "what to practice," because you are (hopefully) going to be playing and learning your entire life. There is no "quick fix" that if you just practice this technique for one month, or that technique for one month, and some theory, that you will become Yngwie Malmsteen (or whomever your favorite guitarist may be). Rome was not built in a day!
If you become a paying student, Pebber will send you videos each month, which are very helpful in terms of what to practice. Plus, it is always helpful to see a video of your playing, which Pebber really appreciates (and expects) from students who subscribe to his lessons.
I like the way you divide up your time, so having said that, stick with the Daily Practice Routine.
Are you familiar where to download the free .PDF's here on Pebber's site? I thought I read in an earlier post that you already have everything downloaded. If not, just go back to the home page, click on "Lesson PDF/MP3 Files," then click the first link under FREE Guitar Lessons (Guitar Lesson PDF files...), and scroll down about 1/3 of the page. Can't miss it.

You are very welcome! In case you are not aware, Pebber has over 700 FREE videos on his YouTube channel that you can check out, especially since you now have access to all of his .PDF's.
As I always remind students about posting videos: PLEASE post a video that is no more than 3 minutes long and showcases as few exercises as possible. This will make is easier for to watch and will help others get a feel for where you are at with your technique. I am an administrator here, and I also help Pebber out with some of the hundreds of videos he receives every month. Trust me, it is painful to try to sit through a 20-minute video of someone changing up exercises every 30 seconds! My very first video to Pebber was over 10 minutes, too!!

I played (poorly, as it turns out) for 20 YEARS before I discovered Pebber on YouTube! He's since become one of my closest friends, and of course, my Guitar Guru!!

This will allow others, especially myself and Pebber, to view them quicker. Pebber is FLOODED with literally hundreds of videos each month, and I'll handle whatever he sends my way. Just keep them short and sweet,,,and yes, we ALL suck at something guitar-related, especially including myself. Otherwise, we would not be here!

I've got a 2007 SG Standard (Heritage Cherry) that I tricked out a little, as well: I had to take it in, because the headstock had cracked just above the neck joint. So in addition to that repair, I had all of the varnish sanded off the back of the neck sanded and then stained (plays SUPER smooth & fast!). I also had graphite saddles and a bone nut installed, tool.
I'm sorry to hear about your hand injuries. PLEASE take it easy, because nothing gets worse quicker than any kind of pain/damage in the hands, wrists, fingers, and arms, if guitarists try going back too soon! Easy does it, my friend.
Glad to hear that your going to be diving into that Real Book, though...KUDOS to you, sir!!!

I must say, you have some impressive guitars there! Very nice, sir! The guitar sound on this is indeed better than before. It reminds me of the tones of the late 50's & early 60's era blues, rock, and surf guitar sounds!
You really got into a nice groove throughout most of the track. It took you a little bit to find that groove, at first, but if you start hitting those timing exercises that Pebber teaches, you will see an even bigger improvement,,,probably a lot quicker than you think!
I sincerely apologize for the delay in responding, as I have not been without a working computer for a couple of weeks. Geek Squad saved the day, so I am all set.

--- I played guitar, completely self-taught, for 20 YEARS, before I discovered Pebber on YouTube.
--- I, too, discovered that I sucked! I had terrible habits and poor technique
--- Since I discovered Pebber, not only has my playing and technique improved dramatically, but my confidence continues to grow. There is ALWAYS something to learn on guitar. There is ALWAYS something to improve upon.
--- I have NEVER had the need to seek out another instructor, other than Pebber.
As Farelli said, you need to make the ultimate decision, but for some guy to say that you are "learning wrong" is not only an insult, it is completely NOT TRUE! If I were that teacher, I would encourage you to keep developing your skills. This guy wants to put an idea in your head that you REALLY need his help,,,but you DO NOT NEED HIM.
Save your money and stick with Pebber. 20 YEARS from now, you will thank me!

Deciding which books to purchase usually depends on what you are trying to focus on, as I do not know of one book that covers it all. A good place to start: ADAM KADMON'S GUITAR GRIMOIRE. He's actually an old buddy of Pebber's (although Adam Kadmon is not his real name)

I'm reviving some old threads that seemed to have slipped through the cracks and wanted to follow up with you:
1) Scott Grove: Yes, I am definitely familiar with Scott Grove and his videos. There are a lot of folks that take shots at him, but I would say his is very legit. I respect him for what he does and his abilities.
2) Greg Howe: Of course, Greg is a PHENOMENAL player. Have you taken any lessons from him? He's way too expensive for me, and I would be surprised if he is as detailed an instructor as Pebber is,,,,but that's just my opinion. A good guitarist does not automatically equal a good instructor. Pebber happens to be both,,,that I KNOW!
WHO ELSE HAS SOME IDEAS ON WHAT THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE?

For students trying to learn from Pebber's free .PDF's, videos, etc., there can be some work required in terms of finding corresponding videos for each Module or Exercise. I solved that problem by simply watching every video on Pebber's YouTube Channel!
However, those students who sign up with Pebber are sent videos in sequential order -- Stuff that is obviously NOT on YouTube. Stuff that is more in-depth. That's a major reason for becoming a paying student!
In terms of your practice routine, I don't see anything wrong with it,,,as long as you are playing & learning, it's all good!
I went to check out your video but noticed that it is not available on YouTube. Hopefully, you can re-post that here in the Forum...would love to see it!!

Yes, Pebber has literally hundreds (last count: 759) FREE videos on YouTube; almost every single video is of an instructional nature. Hopefully, you will eventually be able to sign up as a paying student, but in the meantime, you are strongly encouraged to keep posting your thoughts, your questions, and (hopefully) videos of your playing, right here in the Forum!
