What you put in is what you get out of it. Too many peopel stuck on the whole talent thing. Yes it sure helps but talent will never beat hard work only when talent works hard we have a problem ;)Good to have you here! enjoy your stay!

@shotimacAs with all new things in life we tend to go in head first, overwhelmed by our new found hobby and willing to do it all to get to a descent level we injure and burn out.The best way to learn something new is to ease into it. An arm not conditioned to play music now has to work for around 3-6 hours and you expect it to be fine? Sure some of us could do it but the majority wont. Thanks for the reply Mr Brown! Do you recommend practicing alongside with actual playing songs or just get the technique part down first than start (trying) to play songs?To me this method seems very appealing comming from a sports background. Im taking face to face lessons in my home town for about a year now and always had a feeling something was missing. I hate not having direction other than just "what song do you wanna play". I mean yes thats why I play guitar although for me a step by step...

Great progress there Ray!Something I wanted to ask for a while. I can see to some degree how all of this makes you a better player but I think we all practice technique to play/make music which is more than just technique. How does this carry over to you actual playing music?
