Thanks Marcelo. I use a metronome but never adjusted the sound on different beats. I'll definitely give it a go.

    Hi all
In the RightHand_part_4A, Pebber talks about becoming a high resolution musician. (I am definitely a low resolution musician!) I only realistically have about 7hrs a week to practice, 3 out of 4 weeks a month. (The 4th week i am on call and end up working 16hr days).
I am feeling confident at 50bpm doing 1, 1/2, 1/4 and 1/16 notes. I get seriously lost in counting odd numbers of notes over 2 or three beats. For example 5 notes over 2 beats. 6 works out, but i get to 7, and fall on my face.
The odd counting for 9 beats seems to become a blur after just a few bars. I'm assuming that I just slow down my metronome until I can get it and work up from there. If anyone has had similar struggles and found a solution, I would love to hear how you worked through it.
    Thanks!
    Cory

    Thanks!
That's tons of info to digest and practice.
The thumb is my #1 enemy. I broke it 2 yrs back in a motorcycle accident, and it's never regained it's strength. I spent and hour practicing today mostly just to keep an eye on it. My hand was very sore afterwards, but I kept proper form.
How often do students normally post update videos? Monthly, or as often as we receive a lesson? I just don't want to get too far off the beaten path right out of the gate here.
    Thanks
    Cory

PB hopefully this is what your looking for. I wasn't sure if you wanted just a single string video, or one showing string skipping like this one has. I struggle with timing as you can see, but it has improved since starting your course. I notice some people have a more exaggerated thumb movement than I do, is this necessary, or am I doing alright? Also, what is the right bpm for me to focus on?
    Thanks
    Cory

I registered and paid for lessons as aut0m4tic1@gmail.com but the forum wouldn't let me register that email so I used coryn7fv@gmail.com for the forum. Not sure if that can be fixed on the back end, no big deal if it cant, just wanted to clear up any confusion.

    Thanks Janine and Farelli

I am waist deep in module 1. The practices are pretty tough, but I can see how they help quickly. My hand coordination is improving already. I can do 16th notes at 125BPM on open strings, but there is no way I can follow with pentatonic yet. At most, I can follow on pentatonic at 110BPM using 1/4 notes. At 120BPM I start to make a lot of mistakes, and have to restart often. (these are peak speeds, not consistent speeds)

    Hi all
Name is Cory. Not much of a guitar player, I call myself a guitar operator. I can play a few songs, and change through all the open and barre chords, but I really dont understand how everything fits together. I got my first guitar at 14, and took lessons for a year from a jr high friend. Learned a few songs, but not really how to play. Spent the next 5 yrs teaching myself. (Nightmare!!!) Took an 8 yr break to get married and complete college. 2 yrs ago I got a new crew foreman at work who has played for 40 yrs, so we have done very informal lessons. Mostly learning songs to correct technique problems I picked up along the way. Have used Justinguitar and various youtube videos but havent seen the success I'm after. So now at 41 I've decided to actually learn for real. Looking forward to getting to know everyone, and get comfortable playing.
    Cory
