Hi I have owned a guitar since 1997 sometimes picking up to play and then not and wondering why cant I play. Then I discovered these pebber brown videos and it has inspired me to practice more I still know I need to put more hours in but it is frustrating never the less this time I am going to persevere.

One thing I dont under stand about the caged system is the empty circles Major Scale - Pos 1 Major Pentatonic, page one are the empty circles to be played or not I have watched the videos loads of times and cant quite see the notes played.

Hope someone can help this 50 year old starting on a new journey.

If I understand you correctly, you're referring to the Major Scale 5 Pos system (condensed) worksheet.

In that case, the filled-in (black) dots are the notes for each position (1, 2, 3, 4, and 5).

The empty circles are also notes in the scale, but for the given position they are not played and should be ignored.
